As you may have figured out i have recently upgraded to Vista assuming by now all the little kinks would be worked out.
Little did i expect or suspect that my snowball microphone by Blue would not be able to work with vista,
I have looked all over for upgraded drivers nothing , firmware updates…. nothing.. now all i can do is hope that i get a response from Blues support team that i sent in last week in regards to needing help for resolve.
I have been in love with my Snowball since i got it. But if they cant help me then why should i stick with them . this is not a 29.99 microphone. I picked up this is a 139.99 from gutiar center. So a little Vista support would not be out of the question given that Vista is almost hmm two years old can it be.?? and Blue still hasnt worked this out.
Keep you posted.
After my Previous Post I was contacted by Mozy ,as a result. I was pleased to have them wish to speak to me about some of my concerns. I find this personal touch in a backup and restore company AMAZINGLY refreshing. To take few minutes to listen and acknowledge me as a user of the service was the highlight of my day.Mozy you do Care about your customers restore needs. Thank you Mozy.Definitely a company to keep your eye not if but WHEN your in the market for a backup solution.

Well today I made the plunge and upgraded to Vista ,,,, Well as a result i have some things about mozy that have me a little upset. MOZY why do i have to send an email when i upgrade my computer and want to switch to the new machine, what i mean is that according to mozys site if you switch to a new computer you have to delete your old backups, why i tell you why cant i tell the software that i am now on a new computer.FROM THE https://mozy.com/docs/MozyHome_Restore_FAQ.pdf
“When you install the MozyHome client on the new computer, you need to email support to have them migrate the data from your old computer to your new computer. Once support has done this, you can then use the Restore tab in the Configuration application to restore your files. However, before support can transfer your backed up files to another computer, you must complete at least a partical backup for the new computer to register in Mozy’s systems.”
HUH now wait just a Frakin MINUTE you need to email support to migrate the data from your old computer to the new,……..BUT BEFORE YOU CAN DO THIS YOU HAVE TO DO A PARTIAL BACK UP ON THE NEW ONE TO REGISTER IN THE SYSTEM….the only way to do that is to buy another subsribtion…….. HOW IS THIS A transfer. when i go to the website to add the new computer so that the software will let me do a partial back up so i can have support migrrate it wants to charge me Total Charge Today: $80.45
CARBONITE JUST JUMPED WAY Up IN MY BOOK.
Why well here is why when i installed my new system i went to the website clicked install carbonite here and then it asks you if your transfering the account to the new one, and guess what it does.. and as long as your files and drives are the same it picks up the back up right there.,no having to email support to tell them that this is what i wanna do, no waiting no wondering . it just works. For all the other set backs i may not like about carbonite. THIS ease of puting it on the new maching or restored machine makes me not mind them so much when my 220 gbs of data backed up is still there. and i need only back up the new changes and its good.EASY is a good thing.,IT EVEN REMEMBER which folders and drives i was backing up so i didnt have to go thru and click yes here and there over and over again.,i havent gotten a reply from mozy yet to know if it will remeber the folders i was backing up , but i am half tempted to cancel my mozy account.if it was prepaid already i would have done it tonight.
