I have been looking to get a new dslr for some time. I was getting close to purchasing the Canon XTI, with in a week of the PMA and wouldnt you know it a new model.. But why

Why do i need the newest model. instead of the XTI what could it offer me that would make me chose it.

Well a couple things come to mind.

1. it uses the secured digital card instead of the compact flash for memory

benifits …I already have a large amount of sd cards vs compact flash cards in my current arsenal .

sd cards tend to be less expsensive and use less power consumption*so i have been told have no hard facts on this.

secured digital card readers tend to be built into laptops more times then the compact flash so for me i wouldnt have to carry around a card reader with my laptop anymore.

2. Live view

this is unique among dslrs in the midrange price point. if you have ever taken a pic with a cellular phone or pocket digital cam it shows you what you will be taking a picture of without having to squint thru the viewfinder.

this is good for those with glasses that may interfere .

for me i can hold the camera above head and aim at concert or people on stage or get some great and interesting angles that may get missed if i didnt have a slight idea of what the pic may be of.

MORE TO COME
